| It breaks my heart to even
write this, but I'm looking for solutions for my much-loved horse Teddy.
He has the sweetest personality and he's quite irreplaceable, but I
simply don't have the time he deserves due to work and its not fair to
him. I will consider a lease, a sale, donation to charity or other
non-cash offers. An abundance of TLC and an excellent standard of living
is worth more to me than your money.
Teddy is a gorgeous, loving 11 year old Percheron gelding. Teddy is
absolutely gorgeous, a traffic stopper, quite literally. In the summer,
his coat shines like copper, set off by his black, wavy mane, tail &
fetlocks. He's got a sculpted head, thick, graceful, arched neck and
nice round rump. Living in
Maine, people would pull over by our farm just to look at him. He stands
about 16.3 hands and he is healthy in every regard.
I have had him since 2004, when I bought him in Elliott, Maine. He is
originally from New Brunswick, Canada. He spent two months refreshing
his training at
Troika Drafts in Hebron, ME and is good to ride and drive. He has just been pastured for the past 18 months, when I moved back
to California from Maine. Though he has not been worked in a while, he
would be back up to speed in no time at all with some attention from an
experienced handler.
He's an easy keeper, and requires more loves
than grain. He likes to eat carrots from my back pocket, giving a nice
firm hug in exchange.
He really enjoys people and has always been gentle and loving, even
with tiny children. He is good with other horses and has been pastured
with the same two horses for the past 18 months. The decision to change
the situation is prompted because the horse he is bonded with is quite
elderly and probably will be put down within the month. Its not right
for Teddy to be alone for any extended period of time.
The most important thing to me is that he have a loving home and a job
to keep him busy. He would come with all his gear, including Wintec
tack, blanket, mounting block, etc. I don't have a trailer, and so you
would need to transport him. He is currently in Pike, which is located
between Marysville and Nevada City. If you
would like to visit Teddy, or make an offer on him (non-cash offers will
be considered), please e-mail Lori at ladasiewicz(at)pacbell.net or call
me at 650-273-1163. If you call, please note that I travel frequently
and it may be a few days before I can return a message. E-mail is
checked daily. |
